San Elijo State Beach
The San Elijo State Beach has campsites for tent and RV travelers and is approximately 30 minutes west of Poway.Tent sites are primitive. There are picnic tables, fire rings and fresh-water spigots at the sites. RV sites can handle rigs to 35 feet in length, and the park offers dump stations but no hookups. Pets are allowed in the campground if leashed. No glass containers or bottles are permitted on the beach. Showers and toilets are on the premises. Surfing, fishing, boogie-boarding, swimming and beachcombing are available from the campground. Hiking trails can be found at the Torrey Pines State Reserve, a 20 minute drive down the coast. Visitors seeking the familiarity of a franchise campground can find it at the San Diego Metro KOA. There are sites for tent campers as well as RVs.
