Andover, Massachusetts, is located on the Merrimac River in a rural setting but still offers easy access to Lowell, Boston and Nashua. Surrounded by several state parks, Andover is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Lawrence State Park offers walking trails, hiking, mountain biking and camping, and Pemberton Park offers views of historic mill buildings. Other nearby hiking sites include Harold Parker State Forest with 3,000 acres, and Weir Hill in North Andover with lakefront trails and scenic views. Canobie Lake Park, an amusement park with roller coasters and attractions, is only a short drive away in Salem, New Hampshire.
