Jones Beach State Park is a swimmer's paradise with over six miles of surf shore and another half mile of serene bay, where swimming is the call of the day during the hot summer months. For those who seek to escape the hectic schedule of the the Long Island area and enjoy some time in nature, Jones Beach State Park also offers opportunities for viewing native plants and wildlife. And, after a day of fun in the sun, there are a variety of restaurants that surround the park, no matter which direction you head.

Jo Jo Apples Cafe‎

Jo Jo Apples Cafe‎ is a short drive across the water on the Lido Parkway from Jones Beach State Park. Located on the eastern edge of Nassau Beach County Park, Jo Jo Apples is a quaint little beach-side diner that features home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The environment is inviting and open with large glass doors that let the fresh sea air flow through; a comfortable patio area with an awning protects guests from the sun and keeps things cool. The dinner menu is a range of salads, steaks, pastas and seafood.

Lido Kosher Delicatessen

If you're looking for the authentic taste of a New York deli, Lido Kosher Delicatessen offers it outside the New York City limits and sends their deli packages across the continental United States. But, if you happen to be lucky enough to be spending the day at Jones Beach State Park, you can experience the local flavor of the delicatessen simply by making the short five mile drive to the west of the park. Schooner Restaurant‎

Located just six miles to the north of the western end of Jones Beach State Park, the Schooner Restaurant‎ is a family-owned joint that has been serving up fresh seafood and romantic views of the Long Island South Shore since the 1980s. There's a cozy patio bar and outdoor seating during warm summer days with terrific views and the food is a combination of seafood dishes mixed with prime cuts of beef. The restaurant specializes in tantalizing Maine lobster, with clams, salmon, oysters and shrimp also dominating the menu. Come by boat or car for a casual meal on the outside patio or upscale dining inside.
