Superior, AZ Hotels

Superior is a small town in central Arizona, 65 miles east of Phoenix. The town is known for its spectacular scenery--so much so that many films have been shot there, including the classic "How the West Was Won." Superior is located within the boundaries of the Tonto National Forest, and nearby attractions include Theodore Roosevelt Lake, Tailings Pond, Solitude Tailing Pond and the San Carlos Reservoir, all providing opportunities for hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. Although there are no hotels in Superior, the neighboring towns of Gold Canyon and Globe have several.

Best Western

The Best Western is located in Gold Canyon, about 30 minutes by car northwest of Superior, via U.S. Route 60. Besides the adjacent Tonto National Forest, other attractions in the region include Superstition Springs Golf Club, Lost Dutchman State Park and Red Mountain District Park. Hotel amenities include complimentary high-speed Internet access, daily newspapers, parking, local phone service and continental breakfasts. There are two airports within 30 miles of Superior: Sky Harbor International Airport and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Although pets are not allowed at this hotel, travelers can enjoy the on-site swimming pool, restaurant and full-service bar.

Quality Inn

The Quality Inn is in Globe, approximately 30 minutes northeast of Superior. Local area attractions include the Corre Valley Country Club, the Apache Gold Casino and the Besh-Ba-Gowah Archaeological Park. The Comfort Inn provides complimentary daily breakfasts, newspapers, wireless and wired Internet access, local phone service and parking. Pets are allowed.
