In addition to being Florida's state capital, Tallahassee is the county seat of Leon County. The city is also a regional center for trade and agriculture, and home to Florida State University. The Florida State Capitol building itself represents a unique aspect of Florida history. Restored to its 1902 appearance, it's at once the modern political center of the state and an important link to its past. Legislative offices, a research center, a museum, and statues and memorials surrounding the capitol building. Tallahassee offers a number of downtown hotels situated near the state capitol complex, most oriented toward the modern business traveler.

The Tallahassee Center is a 111-unit luxury condominium and hotel with views overlooking Florida State University and the Florida State Capitol, which is just two blocks away. The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science is located next door to the Tallahassee Center, and an IMAX theater is available across the street in the Challenger Learning Center. The hotel offers a wide variety of room sizes at nightly rates, from studios to three-bedroom suites. Each has a private balcony and access to the hotel's business center, fitness center and dry-cleaning service. Units are also available for sale.
