Atlanta is a city for lovers of the outdoors, and its diverse recreational offerings give you plenty of activities in which to participate Whether you've been riding on the city's network of bike trails, taking in the sights of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, hiking through historic neighborhoods, or playing a game of tennis at Piedmont Park, the city's always got more to offer. Once you've built up an appetite, Atlanta's centrally located Midtown district has a wide array of cuisines to satisfy any cravings.

Chinese Buddha

Located near the famous Georgia Institute of Technology, a short walk from Piedmont Park, the Chinese Buddha's expansive menu is perfect for all tastes. Not content to just cater to carnivores, Chinese Buddha offers a substantial vegetarian menu with meatless takes on all the classics. Presented with style in an upscale setting, the Chinese Buddha's affordable dishes offer generous portions. For those in town later in the day (or into the morning), the restaurant's hours can't be beat. The Chinese Buddha is open late--until 6 a.m.--most days of the week.

Vortex Bar & Grill

After a walk through the historic Midtown neighborhood, stop by the Vortex for a burger like no other. Recently featured on the Food Network's "Man Vs. Food," the Vortex is located on Atlanta's famed Peachtree Street and serves up creative combinations with plenty of attitude. Try a Ragin' Cajun burger if you have a spicy side, or attempt to down the restaurant's trademark Double Bypass burger -- a half-pound patty with loads of cheese, bacon and fried eggs between two grilled cheese sandwiches. The Vortex also offers soups, salads, and a variety of sandwiches.

Pasta da Pulcinella

Tucked away just blocks from Peachtree Street, Pasta da Pulcinella serves Italian cuisine in the shadows of Midtown's newest skyscrapers. At home in a converted bungalow house, Pasta da Pulcinella has a reputation for offering great food at a modest price. Of particular note is the tortelli di mele, a ravioli dish featuring Granny Smith apples, sausage, and parmigiana in a butter and cider reduction. This and a number of other pasta and risotto dishes are available for lunch and dinner, making Pasta da Pulcinella a convenient, easy choice for after a good game of tennis at the park or part of a night on the town.
