Crystal Creek Campgrounds Near Standish, Michigan

Standish, Michigan is near Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron, and is a mecca for outdoor activities. There is the scenic Rifle River, which offers many opportunities for rafting and boating, as well as fishing. Trails are plentiful around the rivers and in the forests in the area. The region surrounding Standish contains many campgrounds to give people more access to the natural areas.

Crystal Creek Campground

The Crystal Creek Campground is owned by Russell Canoes and Campgrounds about 10 minutes from Standish. The campground has 85 sites with electric and water hookups. There are coin showers, bathrooms, laundry room, dump station and a playground. There is a store on the grounds and nighttime security is provided.

The Russells also have a canoe business, and rent kayaks and various inflatable watercraft for scheduled trips on the Rifle River.

River View Campground and Canoe Livery

The Riverview Campground, about 15 minutes from Standish, lives up to its name with a half-mile of riverfront camping along the Rifle River. Riveriew has 71 sites on the river plus 150 sites in-land. The sites go from primitive with no services all the way up to full service hookups and seasonal cabins. You may also rent a space year around, though the campground is only open in summer.

Riverview Campground provides showers, bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, playground equipment, a camp store, rec room, SnackWagon and nature trails. The campground offers canoe, kayak and inflatable rafting options on the river.

Big Bend Family Campground

Big Bend Family Campground has more than 100 sites, ranging from no-service tent areas to full hookup RV areas; you may also rent an RV here. Group camping areas are available.

There are about 50 sites on the water, and the Rifle River is the focal point of the operation. Canoes, kayaks and inflatable crafts are available for use on the river, and there are guided river excursions as well.

The campground has a five-acre lake, a baseball field, volleyball, playgrounds, trails, a community room, showers and restrooms.
