Less than 2 miles away, the SouWester Lodge has the most wit, hands down, of any lodging in the Long Beach area. Its 81-year-old partners offer four classes of accommodation--lodge, cabin, Tch! Tch! (Trailer Classics Hodgepodge) and RV park (tents welcome). Funky it might be, but the facility has Internet and beach access. It's buried in coastal forest. Rates for roughly 20 cabins and Tch! Tch! begin under $100. Be sure to phone for reservations.
