Rocky Mountain House is located in Alberta, Canada in the Rocky Mountains. In the late 1700s Rocky Mountain House was the center of Canada's fur trade. Over nine different aboriginal groups would come to the former fort to trade fur. Now the area is a Canadian National Park to protect the archeological remains of those past days, and the town has become a tourist spot for those who want to enjoy hiking, fishing and amazing scenery.

The Holiday Inn Express in Rocky Mountain House is a good option for those traveling with children. Amenities include a mini golf course, five-pin bowling and a bike and board racing club. The hotel is within 10 miles of Waterfall Mini Golf, mountain biking, dog sled tours such as Ice Haven Expeditions, canoe tours, Canyon Creek Golf, the Rocky Mountain House National Historical Park, and many other wonderful outdoor actives. Rooms range from $75 to $100 a night (February 2010 rates).

Walking Eagle Inn

The Walking Eagle Inn is always an option for those traveling to Rocky Mountain House. This hotel has three different types of rooms; one even includes a full kitchen for those who are going to stay for a long period of time or prefer to cook for themselves while traveling. The Walking Eagle Inn also offers packages that you can purchase for less than $100 for golfing and horseback riding. Hotel room prices range from $100 to $200 a night, and they offer AAA and senior discounts (all pricing as of February 2010).
