With the Inner Harbor, Chesapeake Bay, and Patuxent Wildlife Refuge all in close proximity to Baltimore, Maryland, there is plenty of opportunity to get in touch with nature through hiking and backpacking trips, paddling trails, fishing trips, and scenic bike rides. Rusty Scupper

The Rusty Scupper is open seven days a week, for lunch and dinner on weekdays, and brunch and dinner on the weekends. The restaurant is located on three levels above the water of the Inner Harbor and boasts great waterfront views. This establishment specializes in contemporary seafood, featuring regional catches. The Sunday live jazz brunch, which has won awards from the local paper, includes the brunch, complimentary champagne, sangria, and mimosas, along with live jazz music. Guests can listen to live piano music most evenings from the large lounge or outdoor patio. Reservations are suggested.

Phillips Seafood

With its famous crab cake sandwich, Ahi tuna steaks, wide selection of fresh fish entrees, and inventive seafood pasta dishes, Phillips is an East Coast institution, open since 1956. Open for lunch and dinner, the 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekday happy hour offers inexpensive drinks and small bites. With an impressive wine list and wine flights (a trio of samplings) available, enthusiasts will enjoy the view while trying some new wines from around the world. The restaurant is located on the edge of the Harbor and offers great waterfront views as well as seasonal outdoor seating.
