The quaint, historic town of Safety Harbor sits on Tampa Bay, less than 20 minutes from Clearwater and from downtown Tampa. While largely a residential area, the city is also a longtime home to the Safety Harbor Resort. A cluster of art galleries and shops line the downtown streets. Water sports like sailing, swimming, waterskiing and boating are popular and top nearby attractions include Lowry Park Zoo, Florida Aquarium, Ruth Eckerd Hall for performing arts and Busch Gardens.

Bay Bayou RV Resort

Woodall's gave this RV park its highest rating in 2008 to 2009 and Trailer Life ranked it in the top 100 parks in the U.S. The campground, set on the banks of Double Branch Creek, is located less than 10 miles from Safety Harbor. There are 272 spacious sites with full hookups, patio, picnic table, free telephone, cable TV and high speed Internet. Wi-Fi is also available throughout the park. The property has fishing docks on the river and a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool spa. There's a large, 6,000-square-foot clubhouse with pools tables, lending library, guest kitchen, pool tables and exercise equipment. Campers can rent kayaks to paddle the creek and nearby Tampa Bay. There are several special events and planned activities offered throughout the year, including dances, pot-luck suppers, bingo and more.

Clearwater Travel Resort

This RV resort is located just minutes from Safety Harbor (less than 10 miles) and to Clearwater beaches (seven miles.) There are 163 sites with full hookups (30 or 50-amp electrical service), patios and picnic tables. There are two bathhouses on the property with hot showers, two guest laundry facilities, a dump station, heated outdoor pool and clubhouse.

This bustling, 13-acre resort in Palm Harbor, less than five minutes from Safety Harbor, sits on a private fishing lake and is minutes away from Gulf Coast beaches. There are nearly 100 RV sites with full hookups, picnic tables and free Wi-Fi.
