Tabor Township is part of Polk County in the northwest corner of Minnesota. Tabor is also a small village within the township. The campgrounds of the area are mainly based within state parks and recreation areas, offering travelers the chance to stay in the same location as many of the best opportunities for outdoor sports and activities.

Red River State Recreation Area

Red River State Recreation Area is 17 miles southwest of Tabor, near Grand Forks. This location offers 98 sites, four of which are backpack campsites with tent pads. The park also has a group camp. The majority of the sites have pull-through access and 70 offer full hookups. Guests will find showers, flush and vault toilets and free Wi-Fi service. The spaces can handle RVs up to 50 feet in length, but the property has no dump station. Firewood is offered for sale in the park. This location is closed in winter. Red River has 7 miles of trails for hiking and biking. A swimming beach is within walking distance of the campground, and boat access on the Red River is a short drive from the park. The campground sits near enough to the city that travelers can sneak off for dinner or supplies from town and then escape again to nature.

The park has a dump station for RV campers and showers for guests to use. The state park has mountain bike, hiking and cross-country skiing trails and sledding in winter.
