Saluda, North Carolina, is considered to be an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. The small town sits at the base of the Blue Hill Mountains, which offer hiking, camping, picnicking, fishing, fly-fishing, mountain biking and boating adventures. Trails of the Green River Game Lands offers visitors a chance to hike through miles of wilderness with numerous opportunities to catch glimpses of birds and mammals.

Highland Lake Inn

Highland Lake Inn is located 10 miles from downtown Saluda. The inn is situated on 26 acres along the shores of a lake. There are numerous lodging choices including cottages, house rooms, lodge rooms and cabins. The Woodward House offers 16 deluxe guest rooms. All of the rooms offer a private bathroom. The lobby features a fireplace, library and full kitchen for guests to enjoy. The Mountain Lodge offers 20 guest rooms, a large river rock fireplace in the lobby, wood floors and a game room. Cabins have private porches with large rocking chairs, as well as a large fireplace and either one or two rooms. The deluxe Primrose Suite has a whirlpool tub, large fireplace and romantic four-poster bed. The Highland Lake Inn offers guests a deluxe country-style breakfast, free bicycles to traverse the property or outlaying area, swimming, canoeing, yoga studio, tennis court and in-room massage.

The Oaks Bed and Breakfast

The Oaks Bed and Breakfast is located in a Victorian-era house in the heart of Saluda. The house was built in 1895 and was opened to guests in 1906. The main house offers four deluxe guest rooms. The property also has a carriage house with two apartment-style rooms available. All guest rooms feature a private bathroom, and each room is decorated in Victorian-era furnishings. There are three large verandas for guests to enjoy, a fully stocked library, a fireplace in the parlor and daily breakfast served. Guests can enjoy strolling through the manicured gardens, or they can drive nine miles to local Pearson Falls to enjoy a lovely botanical preserve that boasts 268 acres with trails and a plummeting 90-foot waterfall.

Holiday Inn Express

The Holiday Inn Express is located eight miles from downtown Saluda. The hotel offers a large indoor pool, dry cleaning service pickup and interior corridors. The hotel serves a complimentary breakfast every morning for guests, and rooms include a cable television and coffeemaker. Some rooms include a microwave and refrigerator. Chimney Rock State Park is located 20 miles from the hotel, where guests can enjoy hiking, picnicking and breathtaking views of the waterfall that cascades 404 feet.
