Butte, Montana, is surrounded by four million acres of state and federal land for the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy. The local Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest spans over three million acres. The area offers numerous back-country adventures into unspoiled wilderness filled with miles of hiking trails, lakes, rivers and streams. There are numerous campgrounds, fishing opportunities and picnic areas available. Butte is also alive with history and was once known as the "Richest Hill on Earth" because of its vast mineral deposits that were avidly mined.

Finlen Hotel

The Finlen Hotel sits in the same location that the McDermott Hotel once called home in the 1880's. When the McDermott was razed in 1924 the majestic Finlen Hotel was built in its place. The hotel was designed to closely resemble New York City's Hotel Astor. Through the years the Finlen has hosted such notable guests as Charles Lindbergh, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy. The hotel offers the choice of 25 motor inn rooms and 30 hotel rooms. All rooms include either a full or a queen-sized bed, microwaves and refrigerators. Wi-Fi is available in the hotel lobby. The hotel is located in downtown Butte within walking distance of dining, antiquing and museums. Guests can stroll to the Charles W. Clark Chateau Museum where they can enjoy viewing 18th and 19th century furniture, artwork and textiles.

The Best Western Butte Plaza Inn offers a complimentary breakfast, fitness room, pool, spa and an on-site restaurant. Guest rooms feature cable television, Wi-Fi, coffee makers, and room service. A few rooms offer refrigerators and microwaves. Pets are accepted with a small fee. The hotel is conveniently located only half a mile from Our Lady Of The Rockies where guests can take a bus ride to the towering statue located 8,510-feet about sea level on the Continental Divide. The local Dumas Brothel Museum is two miles from the hotel, where guests can learn about the brothel industry during the mining era.

Days Inn

The Days Inn has a pool and complimentary breakfast for guests. Rooms feature HD wide-screen televisions, free Wi- Fi, coffee makers and complimentary local newspapers. The hotel is three stories high and offers a view of the mountains from a few rooms. Two suites feature in-room jacuzzis. The hotel is located three miles from the Copper King Mansion. The Mansion is a historic museum that was built by one of the copper kings in the region during the latter part of the 1800s. Guests can take a guided tour of the mansion and learn about the mining history of the area.
