Queens, NY, sits at the tip of Long Island and is the largest borough in New York City. Spend your days at a number of attractions including Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, the only national park in the United States that has the status of wildlife refuge. Hike and explore over 9,000 acres of ponds and marshes where you can enjoy watching local wildlife or Fort Totten Park which is located on the shores of Little Bay, providing quick access to facilities for fishing and boating. After long days of adventure, head into Queens and enjoy a culturally diverse and likely spicy authentic West Indian meal at one of many fine restaurants.

Nanking Express

Whether you sit on the open air patio or in the dining room, you will be able to see exactly what is happening in the kitchen at Nanking Express. Sit and watch a sideshow of sorts as flames shoot up from hot stoves and food is prepared at a feverish rate. Popular dishes include rogan josh, which combines a traditional goat and lamb curry with kashmiri sauce and red chili, and tawa jingha masala, which features prawns served with vegetables and traditionally spiced. Nanking Express in not the fanciest restaurant that you will ever experience but the true focus here is on the food.

Chilli Chicken

This is an interesting restaurant and considered to be a favorite in New York City by locals. Chilli Chicken is located in a small dingy space under the L train line and its tables, chairs and artwork don't match at all. You will not be visiting this restaurant for the ambiance and charm. You will be visiting to experience authentic dishes such as paneer manchurian, chili cauliflower, and spicy hakka chicken. If you are a fan of West Indian-inspired cuisine, you will appreciate the large portions of spicy hot dishes that you will be presented with at Chilli Chicken. A number of vegetarian items are available by request.
