Mahoney State Park Camping

Eugene T. Mahoney State Park is in Ashland, Nebraska. This 690-acre state park is on the banks of Platte River. It offers many recreational activities all year, including fishing, boating, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The park has two campgrounds as well as cabin accommodations, with 149 campsites and 51 cabins.

Little Creek Campground

Little Creek Campground has 43 campsites, which you can reserve up to one year in advance, and 56 non-reservable sites. Situated among trees near Owen Marina Lake, camp amenities include laundry facilities, playground, drinking water stations, shower facilities, hiking and bicycling trails, softball field, telephone service and a trailer dump station. Aside from hiking and bicycling, activities include fishing and boating. During winter, activities include sledding and toboggan runs, cross-country skiing and ice fishing.

Lakeside Campground

Lakeside Campground offers 50 spacious tent sites and paved RV sites right next to Owen Marina Lake. The camp has modern shower/latrine facilities, drinking water, wireless Internet access and a coin-operated laundry is accessible at the adjacent camp, Little Creek. Other amenities include a food and grocery store, a fish-cleaning station and a picnic shelter. Activities include hiking, biking, fishing and boating.

Cabin Campers

Mahoney State Park also accommodates cabin campers. There are 51 cabins on secluded and shaded ridge-tops. With cabins available throughout the year, this is an ideal accommodation for those who enjoy camping year-around. Amenities include linens, basic cookware, air conditioning/heat, fireplace, TV, range stove, refrigerator, outdoor deck and grill.
