Foxwoods Resort Casino, set in the rolling woods of eastern Connecticut, is the second largest casino in the world, and the largest in North America. There are three different hotels on the Foxwoods property, but if you don't want to be staying on site, there are plenty of lodging options nearby to suit all budgets.

Two Trees Inn

This country lodge property is owned by Foxwoods, but is across the road from the casino itself. There's a 24-hour courtesy shuttle service provided to and from Foxwoods, but the casino is in walking distance. Two Trees Inn has a fireplace in the lobby, a restaurant, indoor pool and fitness room. Room rates range from $203 to $322, but many online discounts are available.

Abbey's Lantern Hill Inn

A contemporary bed and breakfast, rooms at Abbey's have fireplaces and Jacuzzis. The property has six outside decks, and views of nearby Lantern Hill. It's walking distance to Foxwoods, and a 10-minute drive to Mystic, and Southeastern Connecticut's other big casino, Mohegan Sun. There are 7 rooms, with rates from from $79 on weekdays, to $160 on weekend nights. A two-night stay is required for Saturday bookings.

Stonecroft Inn

Stonecroft comprises two properties--the oldest an 1807 Georgian colonial which was originally the home of a sea captain, and is on the National Historic Register. There are historic touches such as wide board floors and fireplaces. There's also a newly renovated post and beam barn providing extra accommodations. Both are set on a six-acre property a short drive from Foxwoods. Altogether there are 10 rooms, and double occupancy rates range from $189 to $275.

Almost in Mystic/Mare's Inn

This small B&B has just three double rooms, and one suite with a Jacuzzi and its own kitchen. All rooms come with a private bath. Pets are welcome, with prior permission from the owner. It's a 10-minute drive from Foxwoods. Rates are from $95 to $195 per night.

Hilltop Inn & Suites

This budget option has 139 guestrooms and suites, situated four miles from Foxwoods. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to Foxwoods on Fridays and Saturdays, and by request on other days. The property has a fitness center. Room rates are $68 on weeknights to $179 on weekends.
