Seven Seas Scuba Dive Centre: Open Water Course
Just north of Portland, Seven Seas Scuba Dive Centre offers the PADI Open Water class. This is the first certification offered by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. After completion of this class, you will receive a certification recognized around the world. You will be able to join dive trips, obtain air fills and begin exploring the underwater world. In the class you will learn to assemble your dive gear, plan dives, and read a diving table. This class will also qualify you to take advanced classes and specialty classes, many of which are offered by Seven Seas.

Aquatic Sports: Specialty Courses
Once they've completed the Open Water level certification, many divers are eager to learn more specialized skills. Aquatic Sports, affiliated with Scuba Schools International, offers beginning and specialty classes. Popular choices include Deep Diving and Wreck Diving. During the Deep Diving class, divers learn techniques and additional safety procedures for diving to depths from 60 to 130 feet. In the Wreck Diving class, divers learn the skills needed to safely explore shipwrecks.

Pacific Watersports: Advanced Open Water Course
The PADI Advanced Open Water class offered by Pacific Watersports in Aloha, Oregon, gives Open Water certified divers the experience and skills to attempted more advanced diving. The class includes five specialty dives which include Deep Diver and Underwater Navigator. Additional specialty dives are determined by instructor and student and may include Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Search and Recovery Diver and others.
