Campgrounds Near Long Beach Island
LBI, as Long Beach Island is known to locals and summer residents, is a barrier island off the Jersey Shore, and it's a very popular summer destination for many people. Outdoor activities abound here, from biking around the island to taking surf lessons in the Atlantic, and you can spend hours exploring "Old Barney," the Barnegat Lighthouse on the northern part of the island. There are several campgrounds near Long Beach Island, so whether you're bringing your RV or just a few tents, you'll find an ideal spot for your family.

Atlantic City North Family Campground

Located in the Pinebarrens, the forested coastal plain that stretches beside the Jersey Shore, the Atlantic City North Family Campground is just 15 minutes from Long Beach Island, and it offers free passes to the beach in season. The park offers primitive tent sites, air conditioned cabins and full hookup sites for RVs that include water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric service.

The Atlantic City North Family Campground has an outdoor pool with a water playground, a miniature golf course, volleyball and shuffleboard courts and planned activities for kids throughout the summer months.

Sea Pirate Campground

Just eight miles from LBI, you'll find the family-friendly Sea Pirate Campground that is surrounded by the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, where you can go fishing, crabbing, boating or bird watching. The park has private, wooded tent sites, cabins and deluxe cottages and RV sites that can accommodate any size recreational vehicle and include full water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric hookups. There's an outdoor pool here as well as boat rentals, a fishing pond and a large playground. The campground schedules many activities throughout the summer like arts and crafts sessions, hay rides and parties with DJs. The Sea Pirate Campground is open May 1 through November 1.

Baker's Acres Campground

The Baker's Acres Campground is situated on 60 acres of land in the wooded Pine Barrens area that stretches along the Jersey Shore, and it is a short drive from Long Beach Island. The park offers over 300 large, shaded spaces that include primitive tent sites and RV sites with full hookups. It also has furnished, air-conditioned cabins for rent. Here you'll find two outdoor pools; an arcade; a playground and areas for baseball, volleyball and horseshoes. Baker's Acres Campground is open May 1 through November 1.
