Blue Spring State Park
The St. Johns River forms the western boundary of Volusia County as it winds through east-central Florida toward its mouth in Jacksonville. Blue Spring State Park protects 2,600 acres surrounding a first magnitude spring on this river. The constant 72-degree water attracts swimmers escaping the summer heat and manatees seeking a winter refuge. The park offers overnight guests rental cabins and a developed campground where campsites suitable for RV or tent camping are provided with electric and water hookups. Additional park features include a boardwalk, paddling on the St. Johns River, picnic areas, restrooms and concessions. Primitive campsites and additional rental cabins are available at adjacent Hontoon Island State Park, and equestrian camping can be found across the river in Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park.
