Joplin is in the southwestern corner of Missouri, near where the state meets the borders of Kansas and Oklahoma. The city is home to a number of RV parks with widely varying amenities. Each of these selected parks offers nightly stays with a few extras and a cost of under $50.

Joplin KOA

The Joplin KOA has a variety of sites and travelers can choose from a list of amenities to create the vacation that fits their specific needs or wants. The park has back-in sites for smaller campers, pull-through sites and big-rig accommodations for RVs up to 90-feet long. Economy sites are the least expensive, yet still offer full hookups. Super sites pile on the conveniences and include a patio, furniture and accent lighting. Cable TV connections and clear sky views for satellite sites are available. Free wireless Internet is provided. The park store sells pizza, gourmet coffee and souvenirs. Enjoy hayrides and movies on summer Saturdays. The park offers a fitness center, bicycle and pedal cart rentals, nature trails and a pond where you can feed fish, ducks and turtles. Walter Woods Conservation Area--3 miles east of the KOA--has a small pond and short hiking trail. Its primary attraction is bird-watching. Tipton Ford Access is 12.5 miles from the KOA, just beyond Walter Woods. The access area offers canoeing on Shoal Creek.

The park is one of the most basic of the area, supplying few frills but some of the lowest rates. Guests receive restroom, shower and dump station access. Wi-Fi service is planned for the park as of 2010. The area is well-lit, and creek swimming is available. The RV park is less than 2 miles north of Walter Woods Conservation Area and 12.5 miles from George Washington Carver National Monument.
