Swampscott, Massachusetts is approximately 30 minutes northeast of Boston and provides tourists with access to water activities such as swimming, fishing and boating on Nahant Bay. Swampscott is also within 20 minutes of the recreational opportunities on Nahant Island, which includes the Ocean Walk, a 2-mile path that is suitable for walking and cycling. Harbor Light Inn is situated in the harbor district of Marblehead, less than 25 minutes from Swampscott. Located approximately 5 miles away in Salem, the Salem Inn is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is comprised of three buildings: the West House, Curwen House and Peabody House. Each of these establishments has antiques spread throughout the building and a large fireplace for guests to warm themselves after spending the day fishing or kayaking at Salem Sound. Cap'n Jacks Waterfront Inn

Built in 1835, Cap'n Jacks Waterfront Inn rests on the shores of Nahant Bay and has an outdoor patio that provides a view of the bay as well as the Atlantic Ocean. This marina-style motel is within walking distance from Swampscott's public beaches and is located near recreational sites such as the Marblehead Ramble Ride, a 19-mile cycling trail that runs between Marblehead and Lynn, Massachusetts. The trail also passes by Chandler Hovey Park, a beachfront site that offers opportunities for picnics and features a lighthouse that is 105 feet tall. The guest rooms at Cap'n Jacks include separate living room and bedroom areas, cable television and private balconies, and some of the rooms are two-bedroom suites.
