The Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center (LESTC)
Outdoor enthusiasts are able to bicycle on the 518-mile Great Lakes Seaway Trail system which runs from the Grape Belt (near the Pennsylvania border) along Lake Erie to Niagara Falls and Lake Ontario. The Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center (LESTC) is located in Hamburg, New York and provides a rest haven, information center for those traveling or interested in traveling the trail, and beautiful views of Lake Erie. Visitors can pick up a free Regional Transportation Council Bicycle Route map for the Buffalo-Niagara region, or download it from its website.

Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center
At the Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center, visitors can have an outdoor adventure as they offer a winter activity of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or a nature walk. Participants must bring their own skis or snowshoes. The cost is $3 per person. Pre-registration is advised. Call their office to register. Visit their website for schedule dates (usually on a Saturday in the middle or end of December, January and February), information and directions. Penn Dixie is owned and operated by the Hamburg Natural History Society, Inc.

Hamburg Farmers' Market
To retain energy throughout biking or skiing adventures, visit Hamburg's well-known Farmers' Market. It runs every Saturday (even rainy days) from the first Saturday in May until the first Saturday of November. It is from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Village of Hamburg Municipal Parking Lot. There visitors will find local, seasonal freshly picked vegetables, cheese, eggs, baked goods, honey and more.
