Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA
The Lake Placid KOA offers the familiarity and comfort of the KOA chain. RVs of most sizes can be accommodated. Hookups include the standard water, sewer, cable TV and 30- or 50-amp electric. There are showers, bathrooms and picnicking facilities for guests to use and enjoy. Guests staying at the Lake Placid KOA can head into Lake Placid Village and tour the Olympic training facilities. Mt. Marcy, New York's highest mountain, can be hiked from the Adirondack Club, approximately 10 miles outside of Lake Placid. Neighboring Saranac Lake has canoeing, kayak-touring and fishing. Guests should be prepared for hordes of black flies and mosquitoes during the summer months and bring plenty of bug-spray.

Medcalf Acres Riverfront Campground
RV travelers in the Schroon Lake region of the Adirondacks (the southeast portion of the park) can stay at Medcalf Acres. Anglers can take advantage of the location on Schroon Lake and fish for bass, crappie and sunfish. Stone Caverns are 20 minutes from the campground. Visitors can explore the caves and trails system at the caverns. The campground offers sites for most size RVs. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. Pets are allowed if leashed. Showers, bathrooms, a laundry room and a guest house are available for use. Lake George is within an hour's drive where visitors can take boat tours and hike.

North Pole Resorts
North Pole Resorts has sites for most RV sizes. The campsites are tucked into the maple and conifer forests, offering privacy, shade and solitude. There are picnic tables, fire rings and barbecue grills at each site. Wi-Fi, sewer, water and 30- or 50-amp electric hookups. Pets are allowed. Food storage and preparation should be done according to posted rules due to frequent black bear activity. Road bicyclists can ride the many miles of country roads in the area. Mountain biking can be found at Whiteface Mountain, within a 30 minute drive from the campground. Hiking trails in the High Peaks can be accessed at the Adironack Club's center outside of Lake Placid.
