Norris Lake, Tennessee, Campgrounds
Norris Lake, surrounded by the east Tennessee mountains, is one of the premier destinations in the Tennessee River Valley. With more than 800 miles of shoreline, it's the largest lake in the valley. Water sports abound, including swimming, water skiing and boating. There are several marinas on the lake, and rental boats are readily available. Fishing for walleye, bass and rock fish is popular, and guided charter fishing excursions, including night fishing, are offered by several local outfitters. Landlubbers will find hiking and biking in nearby state parks.

Hickory Star Village & Marina

This bustling, lakefront resort includes a full-service campground with 80 RV sites with full hookups and cable TV. Half of the RV sites are pull-throughs. There are also five tent sites, with water service only, and cabin rentals. The campground has a bathhouse with hot showers, guest laundry and sports fields. Within walking distance is Hickory Star Village, with a restaurant and bar, swimming pool, boat and fishing docks and a full-service marina. Campers can pick up local fishing licenses at the marina and join guided fishing excursions.

Norris Dam State Park

The 4,038-acre state park located on Norris Lake has two campgrounds. The campground in the eastern section of the park has 25 sites. The western section campground has 50 sites. Most sites have picnic tables, barbecue grills and electrical and water hookups. Campers have access to facilities at the Village Green Complex, which include a swimming pool, dump station, guest laundry areas and bathhouses with hot showers. The park also has a full-service marina with boat rentals, picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis courts, sports fields and a network of hiking trails. The Lenoir Museum Cultural Complex includes a museum, an 18th century rice grist mill and threshing barn. State park rangers offer a variety of guided programs and demonstrations throughout the year.

Mountain Lake Marina & RV Resort

This upscale RV resort and vacation home community sits on the shores of Norris Lake, with water and Blue Ridge Mountain views. Campers have access to all community facilities, including the on-site full-service marina, boat docks, boat rentals (including jet skis), swimming pool, and fishing guide service. The campground is perched above a cove and has more than 300 sites and cabin rentals. RV sites feature full hookups with 30- or 50-amp electrical service, cable TV and Wi-Fi.
