Sun Valley, Idaho is surrounded on three sides by the Sawtooth National Forest, and is known as "America's first destination ski resort." Besides skiing, visitors to Sun Valley and Sawtooth Forest will find dozens of trails and camping sites to enjoy. Sawtooth also allows mountain biking, horseback riding, trail bike riding and snowmobiling. There are also two mountain biking trails on the outskirts of nearby Ketchum, Idaho--the Wood River Trail and the Fox Creek Trail.

Sun Valley Lodge

Sun Valley Lodge has six types of rooms, with a total of 148 rooms. All rooms have cable television, air conditioning, high-speed Internet access, security safes, DVD players, pay-per-view movies and refrigerators. Some of the Parlor Suites also have fireplaces. Amenities include a glass-enclosed outdoor swimming pool, outdoor ice rink, on-site restaurant, elegant dining room, lounge, spa, beauty salon, exercise room, game room and six-lane bowling alley. Sun Valley Lodge is approximately five miles from Sawtooth National Forest, one mile from Fox Creek Trail and 1.5 miles from the Wood River Trail.

Best Western Kentwood Lodge

The Kentwood Lodge has three types of rooms available--the standard guest room, a deluxe guestroom and the over-sized kitchenette suite. All rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, wireless high-speed Internet access, cable television, air conditioning and in-room telephones with data ports and free local calls. The deluxe rooms also have a balcony. Amenities include an indoor pool, spa, fitness facility, game room, ski lockers, and meeting space for up to 65 people. The Kentwood Lodge is approximately four miles to Sawtooth National Forest, less than one mile to Fox Creek Trail and about two blocks to Wood River Trail.

Tamarack Lodge

Tamarack Lodge has seven types of guestrooms, both smoking and nonsmoking. All rooms have cable television with HBO, sliding glass doors, blackout curtains, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators, microwaves, free wireless high-speed Internet access and in-room phones. Amenities include an indoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub and a landscaped courtyard with a freestanding fireplace. The Tamarack is approximately four miles to Sawtooth National Forest, less than one mile to Fox Creek Trail and a half-mile to Wood River Trail.
