Due to its beachfront location, Norwalk, Connecticut is able to provide tourists with access to recreational areas, such as fishing and boating excursions in the Norwalk Islands. Norwalk is also located near Sherwood Island, which offers paths for hiking, as well as cycling trails that are spread throughout Fairfield County. Connecticut, like much of New England, has diverse cultures, so visitors should have no problem finding a French restaurant in the Norwalk area.

Chez Jean-Pierre

After a day of fishing and boating at Dolphin Cove, those who have an appetite can check out Chez Jean-Pierre, which is located in Stamford, approximately 15 minutes from Norwalk. This restaurant has an cozy, intimate ambiance that is ideal for a romantic date. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. The lunch menu at Chez Jean-Pierre has selections that includes rouleau de steak au poivre and crepe au saumon fume, while the dinner menu has entrees, such as bay scallops and moules marinieres. Chez Jean-Pierre also has an extensive wine list, facilities for private parties and live entertainment.

Bistro Bonne Nuit

Situated in New Canaan, Bistro Bonne Nuit is an ideal place to visit after checking out some of the area's cycling trails. This restaurant has a European-style décor for the restaurant's exterior and interior. This can be seen in the vintage wine bottles and French artwork spread throughout the restaurant. The restaurant has an elegant atmosphere and has been given an "Excellent" rating by Zagat. Bistro Bonne Nuit is only open for dinner. The menu includes entrees, such as supreme de canard, saumon and boeuf, which is a filet mignon stuffed with horse radish and tellecherry. The restaurant also offers a catering service and has an extensive wine list.

Blue Lemon Restaurant

Blue Lemon is a fine dining restaurant located in Westport, approximately 15 minutes from Norwalk. The restaurant has a elegant, romantic atmosphere, as well as indoor and outdoor seating accommodations. Blue Lemon is open for dinner every night of the week and lunch on Mondays through Saturdays. The menu at Blue Lemon includes French cuisine selections, such as Arroz a la Vasca seafood stew, as well as dessert items including the Blue Lemon tart dessert.
