The Port of New Orleans is home to the Carnival Triumph, a 102,000-ton ship launched in 1999. The Triumph can accommodate more than 2,700 passengers. As of February 2010, Carnival offers four different itineraries on the Triumph departing from New Orleans, with stops in the Caribbean and Mexico.

4-Day Western Caribbean

The shortest Carnival cruise departing from New Orleans is a four-day sailing. It offers two full days at sea, with a stop at Cozumel.

This port of call is known for its great snorkeling and diving around Palancar Reef, as well as its beautiful beaches. Shoppers will enjoy the massive open air markets that line the streets, since some of the best bargains in the Caribbean are available in Cozumel.

5-Day Western Caribbean

Carnival offers a five-day cruise aboard the Triumph from New Orleans. The itinerary includes two full days at sea and the ports of call visited are Cozumel and Progreso, Yucatan. Progreso is a relatively new stop for cruise ships.

Visitors enjoy the white sandy beaches and the Mayan ruins of Dzibilchaltun and Uxmal.

7-Day Western Caribbean

Carnival's seven-day cruise through the Western Caribbean includes stops at Belize, Isla Roatan and Cozumel. Passengers will also enjoy three full days at sea.

Belize offers river cruises for those who enjoy exotic birds and nature along with their tours of Mayan ruins. Isla Roatan is a popular stop for outdoor enthusiasts who want to try snorkeling, diving or just relaxing on the beach.

7-Day Eastern Caribbean

Carnival offers a seven-day Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Ports of call visited on this cruise are Key West, Freeport and Nassau. The cruise also includes three full days at sea.

Key West is the most famous of the Florida Keys, with its laid-back atmosphere and crystal-clear waters that are a favorite of fishermen and snorkelers.

Visitors to Freeport can enjoy beach activities or trips to the "outback" for nature safaris. Nassau offers bird and nature tours, snorkeling and horseback riding.

Carnival Triumph

The Carnival Triumph boasts plenty of onboard activities with its four swimming pools, seven hot tubs, a casino, evening shows and "Camp Carnival" for kids. Staterooms range from 185-square-foot inside cabins to balcony cabins with an additional 35-square-foot balcony, to 345-square-foot suites equipped with a whirlpool tub and king-size bed.
