Jonestown, Texas Area Campgrounds
The quiet community of Jonestown is surrounded by the picturesque Texas Hill Country less than 30 miles from Austin. Nearby Lake Travis is a popular spot for boating, swimming and waterskiing. Local marinas rent a variety of watercraft, including motorboats and pontoons. There are also guided boat tours on the lake. Landlubbers can head into Hill Country for nature walks, horseback riding and garden tours.

Idyll Glen RV Park

This spacious RV park, located midway between Jonestown and Lago Vista, 2 miles from downtown Jonestown, sits on the north side of Lake Travis and offers sweeping views of the Texas Hill Country. There are 37 sites with full hookups and a choice of 20, 30 or 50 amp electrical service. Four sites are pull-throughs. Sites have patios, cable TV, free Wi-Fi and phone hookups. The property also has an adobe-style recreation room with a full kitchen for guests to use, a bathhouse with hot showers, dump station and group camping area.

Leander/NW Austin KOA

Bordering the Texas Hill Country, this bustling campground is less than 5 miles from Jonestown and a short drive from Lake Travis, Highland Lakes and Lake Georgetown. Big rigs are welcome here as the resort has 50-foot RV back-in sites and 100-foot pull-through sites. All have full hookups with 20, 30 or 50 amp electrical service, picnic tables and barbecue grills. Tent sites and cabin rentals are also available. The property has a swimming pool, outdoor whirlpool spa, playground, camp store, bathhouse with hot showers and a guest laundry. There's also a clubhouse with kitchen facilities. The campground hosts a variety of social events, themed weekends and planned activities, including potluck dinners, bonfires, ice cream socials and arts and crafts.

A Mountain Top RV Park

This small, seniors-only (55 years or older) park is locally owned and can accommodate RVs up to 48 feet. It's best to call ahead to make a reservation, as there are only 10 sites, all with full hookups and a choice of 30 or 50 amp electrical service. From the wide-open sites, campers have views of the surrounding Texas Hill Country and Lake Travis. Restaurants and shops are a short drive away at the nearby Lakeline Mall.
