Gloves are one of the most important accessories in any snowboarder's arsenal. Gloves are bound to spend some time with the snow, and fingers are quick to get cold. Purchase a pair of gloves that fits well and provides ample insulation and waterproofing from the elements. Spend some time considering the reviews to ensure you get a quality pair of gloves.

Dakine Lotus

The Dakine Lotus was an editor's pick in "Snowboard Magazine." Editor Tawna Schultz said that it fit her hand perfectly and offered the right features. The glove includes a zippered closure designed to offer a snugger fit. The glove's construction includes Durafuse leather, nylon Flextough panels and a Neoprene cuff. It's available in both black and white.

Dakine Torino

Outside Magazine called the Torino glove "perfect for warmer days" in its 08/09 buyer's guide. The glove features girl-specific design, pre-curved finger construction and a rib-knit cuff. It's constructed with a Weathershield shell, Durafuse leather and fixed tricot lining. The Torino comes in sizes XS to XL.

Special Blend Box Mitten

While gloves will usually suffice, the coldest hands require a pair of mittens. The Special Blend Box mittens were a pick in "Transworld Snowboarding"'s 2010 Gear Guide. These mittens include soft tricot lining, ribbed cuffs, a soft-grip palm and Primaloft insulation. They come in white, black and crew green and are available in S through XL.

Level Bliss Instinct Mitten

Voted a best pick in the gloves/mittens category in "Skiing Magazine," the Bliss Instinct features a mix of Gore-Tex and Primaloft construction for true water and weather protection. The glove includes a Gore Tex XCR membrane, quilted shell with leather and Primaloft insulation inside. It also includes a zippered pocket designed to store a hand warmer to boost the warmth even more. This glove is available in black, brown and ninja black.
