Fort Parker State Park

Occupying close to 1,500 acres between Mexia and Groesbeck, Texas, Fort Parker State Park encompasses a 700-acre lake that visitors use for swimming, fishing, canoeing and bird-watching. Other activities available in the park include hiking and biking. Nature trails, as well as baseball fields are also available in the park. Fort Parker State Park offers 25 tent and RV camping sites, picnic tables, activity center, boat ramp and dock, fishing pier, fish-cleaning facilities, playground, trailer dump station and restrooms with showers.

Located approximately 20 miles away from Mexia, Texas, Shady Oaks Cabins and RV Park offers its campers 47 paved RV sites as well as 19 fully furnished cabins in the heart of Fairfield. Fairfield Lake State Park is less than 7 miles away. The campground features an outdoor pavilion, cable TV, free wireless Internet access, a laundry facility and a fishing pond.

Fairfield Lake State Park

Situated 27 miles away from Mexia, Fairfield Lake State Park occupies 1,460 acres that surround the 2,400-acre lake. Fishing, water and jet skiing, swimming, boating, hiking, biking, horseback riding and bird-watching are examples of outdoor recreation activities the park visitors can enjoy. The park offers RV and primitive tent camping sites. Campground amenities include restrooms, showers, a fishing pier, a fish-cleaning station, boat ramps, a trailer dump station, playgrounds and an amphitheater.
