Wilmington KOA
This bustling campground is five miles from Wrightsville Beach, and its location offers opportunities for a variety of activities, including fishing, kayaking and swimming. RV sites with full hookups (30- and 50-amp electric) and cable TV can accommodate RVs up to 65 feet. There are also tent sites and cabin rentals. Sites come with picnic tables, BBQ grills and free Wi-Fi. The campground has an outdoor swimming pool that's open in the summer, a camp store and a group pavilion. A variety of planned activities, themed weekends and special events, including ice cream socials, potluck dinners and arts and crafts classes are offered throughout the high season, from spring through early fall.

Carolina Beach State Park
This woodsy state park campground, less than 20 miles from Wrightsville Beach, has pull-through sites for small RVs, and several tent sites. No water, electric or sewer hookups are available. There's a bathhouse with hot showers, and campers can access six miles of hiking trails that crisscross the park. The park features a visitor center with exhibits and on-duty park rangers. There's also a marina in the park where campers are welcome to launch and dock their boats. From here, boaters have access to the Cape Fear River, Masonboro Sound and the Atlantic Ocean.

Winner's RV Park
This small, family-owned campground is about 20 miles from Wrightsville Beach and within walking distance to public beaches. There are 22 full-hookup RV sites with 30- or 50-amp electric service. Both open and shady, wooded sites are available. No tents are allowed, but leashed pets are welcome.
