Located close to the Mexican border just across the causeway from South Padre Island, Port Isabel, Texas, is a coastal vacation spot with plenty to see and do. Its location on the Gulf of Mexico and the Laguna Madre Bay provides visitors with boating, fishing, jet skiing, and kayaking opportunities, as well as eco-tours that feature dolphins, birds and other wildlife. Explore the Port Isabel lighthouse, or head to one of the history museums to learn about the European explorers who settled this area in 1554. Whether you're heading to Texas for a short family vacation or for the whole winter, Port Isabel offers several campgrounds from which to choose.

Port Isabel Park Center

Port Isabel Park Center is located on the water, with over 200 sites and multiple boat docks. Tents and pop-up campers are welcome, and there are many grassy sites with full hookups for RVs. Waterfront sites take advantage of the surroundings, and the campground offers wireless Internet, cable TV, showers, restrooms, laundry facilities and a dump station. Spend the days at nearby wildlife or bird refuges, look for seashells along the shore, or hang out in the campground, where you can play pool in the recreation room, fish from the docks, or join in an exercise class or bingo game. Port Isabel Park Center welcomes pets, and they rent sites nightly, weekly or long term.
