Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is located north of Englewood, Florida, and features 76 sites spread out over two campgrounds. Large RV owners should steer toward the Big Flats campground, which can handle vehicles up to 35 feet in length. Both campgrounds feature water and electric at every site in addition to a campfire ring and picnic table. The Big Flats campground is closer to park amenities such as a boat ramp, bicycle and canoe rentals, concession stand, and Myakka Wildlife Tours. The Old Prairie Camp is smaller, a little more isolated and close to a bridge over the Myakka River that is popular with fishermen. Both campgrounds include restroom and shower facilities. Myakka River State Park also features the canopy walkway, an 85-foot-long suspension bridge connected to a 74-foot-high tower, which allows travelers and tourists to come in closer contact with the diverse ecosystem at the top of the forest canopy.
