California Mesa RV Camping

California conjures images of beaches and the Pacific Ocean, but the state also is known for deserts, canyons and mesas. Joshua Tree National Park, the Mojave National Preserve and Deep Creek Hot Springs attract desert explorers. Mesas and desert scenery abound in the southeastern part of the state.

Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground

The Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground is surrounded by desert scenery. Joshua Tree National Park is nearby on one side of the campground, and the Mojave Desert abuts the other. Rock climbing, bouldering and mountain biking are minutes from the park. RV sites have water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric hookups. Pets are welcome but cannot be left alone or in parked vehicles. Bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities and a dump station are available.

Needles KOA

The Needles KOA is in the heart of the Mojave Desert and two hours from the Grand Canyon in Arizona. There is desert hiking and mesa exploration. RVs up to 90 feet can be accommodated. Site connections include 30- or 50-amp electric, sewer, cable TV, Wi-Fi and water. Guests can use the showers and bathrooms on the premises. Pets are welcome. Needles KOA offers discounts to AAA and Good Sam members. Rock-climbing routes and bouldering are in the region surrounding Needles.

Moon River RV Resort

The Moon River RV Resort is in Mohave Valley, Arizona, but less than 3 miles from Needles, California. It is near the Mojave Desert and Death Valley National Park. The Mojave National Preserve is within a 45-minute drive from Moon River. Visitors can hike, mountain bike and rock climb at the preserve. Moon River has sites for large and small RVs. There are standard water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric connections at each site. Pets are allowed if leashed. Guests have use of the showers, bathrooms and coin-operated laundry facilities.
