Bivins is located 177 miles east of Dallas, along Texas' border with Louisiana and Arkansas. This area is known as the Piney Woods region of Texas because of the pine forests that dominate the landscape. The rural nature of the area around Bivins make for excellent outdoor recreation. Cycling is popular as is canoeing, kayaking and fishing in area lakes.

Atlanta State Park

Atlanta State Park is a 1,475-acre park located on the shores of Wright Patman Lake, 20 miles north of Bivins. Both RV and tent sites are available. RV sites are either back-in or pull-through, and all RV sites include water and electricity. Some sites include sewer hookup, and a trailer dump station is available. Tent sites include a tent pad, picnic table fire pit and grill. There are 3.8 mile of hiking trails available within the park as well as a 1.2-mile, self-guided nature trail. Anglers will appreciate fishing for bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish in Wright Patman Lake, and bird watching is plentiful

Amazing Grace Acres

Amazing Grace Acres is located 8 miles northeast of Bivins and features both RV and tent sites. Pull-through sites are available for large RVs and offer full hookups including up to 50-amp electrical service. Restroom and laundry facilities are available on site. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate Amazing Grace Acres' rural setting, which means miles of backcountry roads to explore by bicycle. Hiking trails, canoeing, kayaking and fishing are available nearby.

Caddo Lake State Park

Caddo Lake State Park features 20 tent-only sites with water, a picnic table, fire circle and a grill at each site. In addition 26 RV sites are available including eight full hookup sites with 50-amp electrical service. There are also screened sleeping shelters and cabins available for rent. One and a half miles of hiking trails are available within the park, in addition to a quarter-mile nature trail. Anglers, kayakers and canoeists will appreciate the easy access to Caddo Lake, which covers 26,810 acres of cypress swamp. Seventy-one fish species of fish live in the lake, and naturalists will enjoy seeing alligators, armadillos and white-tailed deer.
