Bar Harbor, Maine makes a great camping destination with its scenic natural features like soaring granite cliffs and rock-bound coast on Mount Desert Island. The area is home to the 41,000-acre Acadia National Park where visitors can marvel at its cobblestone beaches, glacier-carved mountain, fishing lakes, meadows, marshes and evergreen forests. Many campgrounds can be found in Bar Harbor providing easy access to all the recreational activities it offers.

Mt. Desert Narrows

Mt. Desert Narrows offers ocean-front tent sites, tent cabins and RV sites. Some tent sites are ocean front with water and electric hookups. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, shower and bathroom facilities, wireless Internet access, laundry facilities and a heated swimming pool. RV sites have full hookups with 30/50-amp service and cable TV. Campers can take advantage of all the activities right on-site including horseshoes, basketball and volleyball, canoeing and kayaking (rentals available) hayrides and live entertainment.

Hadley's Point Campground

This campground is ideally located just within walking distance to the beach. The Acadia National Park is also just four miles away. Campers can pitch their tents and enjoy amenities such as wireless Internet access, bathroom and laundry facilities, shuttle bus service, heated swimming pool and playground. There are many activities to enjoy at Hadley's Point including hiking, mountain climbing, golf, canoeing, fishing, horseshoes, shuffleboard and whale watching. Tent sites are either primitive or with water and electric hookups. RV sites are available as well and come with full hookups and 50-amp service. Campers can venture out to downtown Bar Harbor, just an eight-mile drive from camp.

Bar Harbor Campground accommodates tent sites and RV sites with many amenities including heated swimming pool, wireless Internet access, playground, bathroom/shower/laundry facilities and paved roads. Picnic tables and fire rings are available at every site. RV sites have water and 30/50-amp electrical hookups. Activities on-site include swimming, hiking, fishing, bicycling, basketball, horseshoes, shuffleboard and a golf course within walking distance is available as well. The camp is only two miles from Acadia National Park.
