Lahaina is located along Kaanapali Beach on the western shores of Maui. The town, which is the largest in Maui, is a popular destination due to its seaside location, beautiful sunsets and seasonal whale watching. Visitors to the area will find that within a few miles of any hotel in Lahaina they'll find an abundance of outdoor activities and water sports, such as hiking and snorkeling.

Kaanapali Alii

This beachfront resort offers some of the largest hotel accommodations in the area. With suites starting at 1,500 square feet, guests have plenty of space. Suite amenities include a private balcony, two full baths, entertainment center and a fully-equipped kitchen. Rooms can feature a mountain or ocean view. Guests can relax poolside or in the whirlpool spa while children enjoy a kiddie wading pool. Barbecue gas grills are located in the picnic area, and an activities desk is located on the beach to arrange for water sports and umbrella rentals. Three lighted tennis courts and a fitness center offer on-site activities, or the concierge can arrange a for a biking trip, helicopter tour or yoga on the beach.

This hotel is located on Kaanapali Beach adjacent to Whalers Village, a popular cluster of shops, galleries and restaurants in Lahaina. The concierge can provide guests with arrangements for snorkeling, scuba diving or sailing. Plenty of on-site activities are available as well, including a fitness room, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts, barbecue area, sauna, salon and spa. The Kaanapali Golf Course is located right across from the hotel. This hotel, which is relatively inexpensive compared to more lavish Lahaina resorts, features guest rooms equipped with full kitchens, free Internet access and cable TV.

Royal Lahaina Resort

This Lahaina resort is located on 27 acres, which include a half-mile stretch of Kaanapali Beach. Guests can book a room in the Lahaina Kai Tower, which features Hawaiian decor, a flat-screen TV, private balcony and work desk. Cottages equipped with a kitchenette and either one or two bedrooms may also be reserved. This non-smoking hotel features two restaurants, three bars and an ice cream parlor. A sundry store, guest laundry facilities and shuttle service are also available. Several activities are available to resort guests, including tennis courts, a jogging path, lei-making, three swimming pools, yoga, catamaran cruises and snorkeling. The resort also hosts a nightly beach luau with an traditional dancers and musicians and open bar and Hawaiian buffet.
