RV Parks Around Hells Canyon, Idaho

Located on the border of eastern Oregon and western Idaho, Hells Canyon is a 10-mile wide canyon carved by the Snake River and is North America's deepest river gorge. Hells Canyon National Recreation Area includes over 215,000 acres of wilderness and has the Snake, Imnaha and Rapid Rivers flowing throughout. It plunges more than a mile below Oregon's west rim and 8,000 feet below He Devil Peak in Idaho's Seven Devils Mountains, and boasts nearly 900 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and snowshoeing.

Hells Gate State Park

Located about 4 miles south of Lewiston, Idaho, Hells Gate State Park is known as the gateway to Hells Canyon. This Idaho State Park is open all year and has hiking, biking and horseback riding along nature trails, a beach and fishing in the Snake, Salmon and Clearwater Rivers. One popular activity includes jet-boat excursions to experience Hells Canyon. The on-site campground has 93 RV campsites that feature water and electricity and can accommodate RVs up to 60 feet. The park has bath houses with showers, flush toilets, a dump station and 100-slip marina. Cabin rentals and tent sites are also available.

Granite Lake RV Resort

Granite Lake RV Resort, north of Hells Canyon in Clarkston, has paved and grass sites capable of accommodating large RVs. The resort sits along the lake for fishing and swimming and features 30- or 50-amp full hookups, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, continental breakfast, a clubhouse and is pet-friendly. It is adjacent to a golf range and 18-hole putting course, and lies at the beginning of a 16-mile walking and bike trail that runs along the Snake and Clearwater Rivers.

Hells Canyon Resort

Open all year, Hells Canyon Resort has 36 pull-thru sites capable of accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. There are 11 back-in sites. It has paved campsites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and features restrooms with showers, free Wi-Fi, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, on-site convenience store, a full-service marina and is pet-friendly. Located along the banks of the Snake River, jet boat trips leave daily from the marina.
