Beaches Near Marlton, New Jersey

Marlton is an upscale town in the southern part of Burlington County in New Jersey. Although one of its benefits is its close proximity to the city of Philadelphia, it is also within a very reasonable driving distance to some of the most popular and well-known beaches in New Jersey. Many of these beaches are just a little over an an hour away, which makes it easy to go there for the day. The beach towns near Marlton also have differing characteristics and activities.

Long Beach Island

Drive down East Main Street in Downtown Marlton and take the Route 70 North exit. Proceed on Route 70 to the Route 72 East exit. Route 72 runs straight to Long Beach Island. The trip takes about an hour. Long Beach Island is one of the most popular family vacation spots in New Jersey. It does not have a lot of night life, but it has a wide range of towns spread along its picturesque 18-mile length. It's a barrier island, which means it is surrounded by a bay on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. The only way to drive there is over the Route 72 causeway.

Seaside Heights

Drive on East Main Street and follow directions to Route 70 North. Stay on Route 70 North to the Route 70 East Exit. Proceed on Route 70 for 18 miles to Route 37 East. Merge right onto Route 35 North and drive into Seaside Heights. It's a 51-mile trip and takes a little over an hour in normal driving conditions. Seaside Heights, which is north of Long Beach Island, is also a popular family destination. Seaside Heights is well known for its boardwalk and many clubs and bars.

Atlantic City

Drive on East Main Street to Route 70 West exit. Turn left onto Route 73 South and proceed 18 miles. Take the Atlantic City Expressway East Exit toward Wildwood/All Shore Points. Merger onto Atlantic City Express South and drive 31 miles into town. The distance is 52 miles and the driving time is also a little over an hour. Atlantic City, which is located South of Long Beach Island, is one of the most famous resorts in the country. In addition to gambling casinos, is has a multitude of various shows and concerts. It is also famous for the Miss American pageant. There are also some famous beaches nearby, including Wildwood and Ocean City.
