There is never a shortage of recreational opportunities in Manchester, Connecticut. This typical New England town located east of Connecticut's capital city of Hartford offers boating, fishing, cross-country skiing and hiking along the Hockanum River, nature walks and picnic sites at Wickham Park, and an annual road race that draws in excess of 12,000 participants. Cavey's

Cavey's is a fairly unique restaurant in Manchester's fine dining landscape. Once inside the restaurant, diners are given the choice to head downstairs for authentic French cuisine, or to the upstairs northern Italian restaurant and piano bar where house-made macaroni is the star of the show. The dining room features warm tones, fresh flowers and plenty of candlelight giving it a sophisticated yet casual feel.

The menu features an assortment of appetizers, pasta dishes and seafood, beef, poultry, veal and lamb entrees. Popular dishes include the Maine crab ravioli, rigatoni alla Bolognese and fresh ricotta lune with arugula. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Pepe's Restaurnat & Lounge

Former UConn roommates, Andrew Aho and Todd Arkerley, are the owners and driving force behind Pepe's. Since 1990, Pepe's has been serving pizza and Italian macaroni dishes to Manchester residents. The restaurant includes a warm and inviting main dining room, a full sports bar and outdoor patio offering al fresco dining in the summer months.

The extensive menu features a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, grinders and pizzas as well as poultry, seafood, pasta, beef and veal entrees. The authentic Italian macaroni entrees are favorites with Pepe's customers, who enjoy everything from sundried tomato and chicken carbonara to pasta bolognese. All pasta dishes offer a choice of macaroni including fettucine, penne rigate, cappellini or linguine.

Carrabba's Italian Grill

Carrabba's opened it first location in Houston in late 1986. With its traditional Sicilian dishes handed down by the Carrabba family, the restaurant became an instant success. The Manchester Carrabba's offers the same casual atmosphere, authentic Italian cuisine and attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff as the original.

Although menu features a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, pizzas and grilled dishes, macaroni dominates with an assortment of pasta specialties and classic Italian macaroni dishes. Popular dishes include linguine with clams in a white wine sauce, four-cheese manicotti and linguine, shrimp, scallops and mussels with a spicy marinara sauce.
