Richardson's Canal House at Bushnell's Basin
Richardson's Canal House at Bushnell's Basin is the oldest restaurant on the canal and was used as a public house (tavern) back in the early 1800s. The Canal House also served a stint as an inn for canal workers and, even though it's been restored, it still retains much of its charm. The restaurant serves upscale dining fare for lunch and dinner. The French country cuisine complements the Victorian charm of the inn. While the dining area is upscale, it has a pub that offers casual surroundings. Patio dining overlooks the canal from late spring to early fall.
