White Bear Lake is located in Ramsey County, Minnesota and is also called the "land of lakes and legend." The area is said to derive its name from the Native American legend about the Sioux maiden who fell in love with a Chippewa brave who frequented Manitou Island. White Bear Lake is also known for Mark Twain's inclusion of it in his memoir: "Life on the Mississippi." Aside from its rich heritage, the area is frequented by many campers for its local attractions and many recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, tubing and canoeing. Many RV campgrounds are available in the White Bear Lake area.

St Paul East RV Park

St Paul East RV Park has accommodations for RV sites, tent sites and cabins. RV sites have full hookups with 30/50-amp service. Partial hookups are available and maximum length pull-through is 80 feet. Other amenities include picnic tables, fire pits, heated swimming pool, laundry facilities, telephone service and DSL dial-up or wireless Internet connection access. Campers can enjoy activities right onsite including volleyball and horseshoes. Many area attractions are within a day's trip including Cabela's (90 minutes away), an outfitter that features a 41-foot mountain with waterfalls, aquariums and art gallery.

Float Rite Park

This campground is situated right on Apple River and features water front RV sites with electric and water hookups. There is a camping package rate that includes campsites plus tubing passes. The camp also has accommodations for log cabins. Tubing is a premier activity onsite as the camp boasts a three hour float on the river. Other amenities include a volleyball court, playground, horseshoe pit, picnic area and shower and restroom facilities. Live music and concert events are held at the park. Other activities include hiking, bicycling and wildlife viewing.

William O'Brien State Park

William O'Brien State Park is situated right along the banks of St. Croix River. It offers many hiking trails as well as other activities like fishing, cross-country skiing, canoeing and bird watching. The camp has RV sites, tent sites and cabins. There are 124 shaded and open area drive-in sites, 61 electric sites and four group tent sites. RV length limit is 60 feet. Other amenities include a swimming beach, fishing pier, picnic shelter, volleyball court, horseshoe pit, boat launch and shower facilities. Campers can fish at the river for walleye, bass and trout.
