The RV parks and campgrounds near Houston provide a place to swim, relax and have fun before heading into the city and the surrounding area. Houston is home to attractions like the Rockets, Astros and Texans professional sports teams. The Johnson Space Center is another top tourist site in the the area. Four miles from downtown is the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center which offers five miles of hiking trails and the interactive Discovery Room.

Adair Park where you'll find tennis courts, nature trails, a large playground area and roads for biking.

Traders Village RV Park

Traders Village RV Park is about 20 miles outside Houston. Paved exterior and interior roads in good condition take you to 184 sites with full hookups including 30/50 amp electric. The park has 140 pull-through spaces with room for slideouts. Facilities include bathrooms, showers and laundry. There are church services every Sunday. Every weekend Traders Village is the site of one of the largest flea markets in Texas, which is a prime draw to this Houston RV resort. Other features include the swimming pool, large playground, plentiful picnic areas with barbecue grills, and free wireless Internet service. About an hour away in heavy Houston traffic is Memorial Park, which offers several miles of hiking trails like the three-mile long Cambodia Trail as well as two biking trails like the six-mile long Memorial Park Trail.

Houston East RV Park

Baytown is a suburb about a half hour away from downtown Houston. Houston East RV has 20 pull-through sites that offer full hookups with 30/50-amp electrical connections and room for slideouts. Facilities and amenities include bathrooms, showers, laundry, grocery store and a personal escort to your site over paved interior roads. You can escape the hot Texas heat in the swimming pool or work out in the fitness center. Just a few miles away from Baytown is the Goose Creek Stream Greenbelt Trail. This is a two-mile trail along the shores of Goose Creek.
