Paramus is located in a densely populated region outside of New York City. It's home to Saddle River County Park, Prospect Park and the Garrett Mountain Reservation, which offers nature exploration opportunities. The area has a large number of restaurants, including a host of Thai eateries.

Malee Fine Thai Cuisine

Malee Fine Thai Cuisine is located about 10 minutes from Paramus, in nearby Ridgewood. The dining room sets a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere and is appointed with Thai decorations. Each dish is made to meet the customer's spice preference, from mild to intense. Malee is open daily for lunch and dinner. The menu features appetizers such as sate (marinated chicken or beef skewers), soups like tom kha gai (coconut milk, galanga, chili pepper, lime juice, chicken and mushrooms) and noodle and fried rice specialties, including pad woon seng (bean noodles simmered in garlic, onion, scallion and egg) and pineapple fried rice with choice of meat. Entrees are served with either chicken, beef, pork or shrimp, as are curry dishes. The large menu also includes a wide variety of specialty dishes, duck, seafood and vegetarian options. The restaurant has outdoor dining when weather permits and allows you to bring your own wine or beer.

Ridge Thai

Guests of Ridge Thai dine in a harmonious environment that combines contemporary furnishings with a sophisticated touch of traditional Thai decorations. The restaurant serves luncheon specials (weekdays only) and dinner. Entre options such as the pra ram long song (sauteed peanut curry with coconut milk and broccoli) come with jasmine rice and choice of beef, pork, chicken or seafood. A good selection of curry and vegetarian dishes is available, along with duck and fish specialties like red snapper or tilapia with choice of sauce. The menu is rounded out with specials that include mussels, duck salad and goong rad prik (shrimp or calamari with hot chili sauce). Reservations are recommended.

Thai Chef

The upscale Thai Chef is located about 10 minutes from Paramus in Hackensack, and was voted "Best Thai Restaurant in North Jersey" by the "New Jersey Monthly" for three consecutive years. The restaurant's chef and owner was head chef at the famous Tavern on the Green restaurant in New York City's Central Park. Thai Chef's dining room is a modern and simple space with minimal decoration. The menu features lobster bisque soup, Thai dumplings, green papaya salad and foie gras. Entrees include Chilean sea bass, New Zealand rack of lamb and venison in vert wine. The menu also includes grilled dishes like roasted crispy duck du jour, plus curry and noodle specialties such as Thai ravioli. Thai Chef features a wide selection of sauteed dishes that include chicken, tender beef and pork loin, as well as shrimp and sea scallops. Spicy level can be modified to meet personal preferences. A diverse dessert list rounds out the menu. Drinks like Thai iced tea and coffee are available, along with a full-service bar.
