KOA RV Campgrounds Near Golden, Colorado

Golden, Colorado is famous for the "Coor's" Brewery and for being the gateway into the Rocky Mountains. Visitors to the Golden area can enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, and rock-climbing. Rocky Mountain National Park is to the north of Golden. Visitors to the Golden area seeking a KOA campground have options in the surrounding area outside of the city. The KOAs listed all offer discounts to AAA and Good Sam travel club members.

Estes Park KOA

Estes Park KOA is only minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Visitors staying at the Estes Park KOA have close access to backcountry skiing, rock and ice climbing (depending on season,) bouldering, hiking, backpacking and fly-fishing. The KOA can accommodate RVs of most sizes. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Pets are welcome if they are leashed. Bathrooms and showers as well as a coin-operated laundry facility are on the premises for guest use and comfort. Estes Park KOA is approximately 30 to 45 minutes drive from Golden, depending on traffic conditions and weather.

Denver East/Strasbourg KOA

Visitors at the Denver East/Strasbourg KOA can enjoy a central location to the city of Denver and still be within convenient striking distance of downtown Golden (within 30 minutes drive, depending on traffic.) The Denver East KOA can accommodate RVs to 70 feet in length. Site connections include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, free Wi-Fi and cable TV. Pets are welcome but need to remain leashed. Skiers staying at the KOA can head to Winter Park where downhill, lift-access skiing can be found, as well as backcountry telemark skiing.

Buena Vista KOA

The Buena Vista KOA is to the south of Golden by about a 30 minute drive. The Buena Vista makes a good base-camp for those seeking water based recreation, as the Arkansas River is one mile from the KOA campground. There visitors can raft, kayak, fly-fish and swim. Hiking trails can be found in the Rocky Mountains to the west and north. Mountain biking trails are within five minutes of the Buena Vista KOA. RVs up to 100 feet in length can be handled with the 105 foot long pull-through sites on the premises. Standard hookups (30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi) are at each site. Pets are allowed if leashed. Bathrooms, showers and a coin-operated laundry are available for guests to use.
