Rustic Cabins in Wolf Laurel, North Carolina

Wolf Laurel Resort is in a mountain setting about 30 minutes north of Asheville, North Carolina. The Cherokee National Forest and the Pisgah National Forest are on three sides of the resort area. Wolf Laurel Resort is a 5,000-acre community just off Interstate 26. The resort is close to ski slopes, and the Appalachian Trail goes through the area. The area also has golf, white-water rafting, hiking trails, biking, horseback riding and nature-watching. In the fall, the colorful leaves rival those of New England, and the wildflowers of spring are also a popular attraction.

Scenic Wolf Resort

This resort has 39 cabins of various sizes to accommodate as few as two or as many as 10 people. The cabins are high in the mountains and offer views of mountains and valleys. The cabins come with two to four bedrooms and queen-size beds. There is heating and air conditioning, hot tubs, some have Jacuzzis and there are fireplaces. The cabins have fully equipped kitchens, grills on the porch and large-screen TVs with cable. The cabins are close to skiing for winter vacations. In spring and summer, white-water rafting and horseback riding are nearby.

Hampton Gap Lodge

The Hampton Gap Lodge is a four-bedroom, two-bath cabin at 4,700 feet and close to outdoor activities. The lodge can accommodate up to 10 people. It has a stone fireplace, a fully stocked kitchen and there are front and back porches with views of the mountains. There are two ski lodges within five minutes. The Appalachian Trail is nearby, as is Chimney Rock Park. There are trails on the grounds, and summer activities include white-water rafting, boating and horseback riding. The Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby.

Fox Den

Fox Den, near Mars Hill, offers scenic views and easy access to ski slopes around Wolf Laurel. The cabin sleeps six, with two bedrooms and a loft. There is a full kitchen, heat, air conditioning and a fireplace. The cabin also includes a garage, cable TV, and washer and dryer. The Appalachian Trail is nearby and there is a private walking trail on the grounds. Winter activities include skiing and snow tubing, and in summer, there is hiking, fishing and white-water rafting.
