Campgrounds Close to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan
Mt. Pleasant is a small city in central Michigan on the Chippewa River and home to Central Michigan University. The Isabella Indian Reservation and Saginaw Chippewa Tribe are also part of Mt. Pleasant, and the Soaring Eagle Hotel and Casino on tribal land draws thousands of visitors. Cross country skiing, swimming, fishing, and canoeing are all popular on the river. Mt. Pleasant has several campgrounds in the city and around it.

Deerfield Nature Park

Deerfield Nature Park is a small park on the banks of the Chippewa River that has a covered bridge, fishing, and an 18-hole disc golf course. A boat launch is on the river for boats and canoes. Deerfield has 10 campsites that are only accessible via a one mile hike or canoe. Hand-pumped well water and pit toilets are available at the camground. Each site has a fire pit, and fires are to be confined to the designated pits. Pets are allowed at the park, and the park is open year-round.

Isabella County Fairgrounds

Isabella County Fairgrounds offers RV and tent camping on 73 grass sites, with 30-amp electric hookup available. The campground is open from April 1 to October 15th. A dump station is located on the grounds. Flush toilets and showers are available. The sites are not shaded, as they are located in a field.

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Campground

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Campground is a popular site for visitors to the Soaring Eagle Casino. Several Tribe gatherings are also held at the camground throughout the year. It is a combination RV and tent campground with 45 sites, and shuttle service is offered to the casino. Each site has a fire ring with cooking grate and a picnic table. Showers, flush toilets, and laundry are available at the site. A swimming pool is open during the summer months, starting on Memorial Day. The campground is open from April to October.
