Campgrounds in Onondaga, Michigan
Onondaga is a small community just 15 miles south of Michigan's capital, Lansing. Campers will find the rural area surrounding Onondaga to have several campgrounds that have many on-site amenities, which include private fishing ponds and forest hiking trails. It is also less than an hour's drive from many larger attractions, such as Michigan International Speedway, and hiking trails in Waterloo Recreation Area.

Rockeys Campground

Rockeys Campground is 12 miles southwest of Onondaga on Bass Lake. It offers 91 campsites that include water and electric hookups as well as a picnic table and fire ring. Facility amenities include modern restrooms with private showers, a laundry area and camp store, along with a picnic pavilion and dump station. There is more than 1,000 feet of shoreline with a sandy swimming area, fishing pier and boat docks. Bass Lake has quality fishing for bluegill, perch and largemouth bass. Other amenities include a playground, cable TV and high-speed Internet.

Heartland Woods RV Park

Heartland Woods RV Park is 15 miles east of Onondaga in Stockbridge. Sites include a concrete pad, electric and water hookups as well as a fire ring and picnic table. There are several modern restroom buildings that include private showers, a laundry room and a camp store, along with a clubhouse that can be rented for gatherings. Recreational amenities include two swimming pools, a playground and an arcade room, along with volleyball, basketball and shuffleboard courts. There is a large fishing pond on site, where guests can fish for bluegill and largemouth bass. Hiking trails are found in the forest that surrounds the campground and offer wildlife viewing opportunities.

Lansing Cottonwood Campground

Lansing Cottonwood Campground is 16 miles north of Onondaga and offers 145 sites. Sites have varying amenities, with full hookups, partial hookups and rustic sites. All sites have a picnic table. Facility amenities include modern restrooms with private showers, a convenience store and a laundry room, along with a recreation room and lobby with pool table. The campground has recreation for its guests, including a playground, a swimming pool and a volleyball court, as well as a softball and soccer field. There are a 3-acre and 5-acre fishing ponds for guests to fish for bluegill and largemouth bass, as well as several hiking trails in the forest.
