A small village in the heart of Bernalillo County, Tijeras, New Mexico, is less than 10 miles east of Albuquerque. Situated in the heart of the Sandia Mountains and near the Manzano Mountain, Tijeras offers its visitors many hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and birdwatching opportunities. Golfing, hot air ballooning and skiing opportunities are also abundant in the Tijeras area.

Hidden Valley RV Resort

Located 12 miles east of Albuquerque in the heart of Tijeras, Hidden Valley RV Resort offers its campers a convenient accommodation with panoramic views of the Sandia Mountains. Golfing, hiking, hot-air ballooning, birdwatching, hunting and horseback riding are examples of outdoor recreation available within a half-hour drive from the park.

Hidden Valley RV Resort has 104 RV sites, all equipped with water, sewer and electric hookups. The resort features a heated pool, hot tub, picnic area, hiking trail, recreation building, laundry facility and phone hookups.

Albuquerque Central KOA

Situated near the Sandia Mountains, Albuquerque Central KOA is less than eight miles from Tijeras. Hiking, skiing and riding the Sandia Peak Tramway are among the activities available within a 10-minute drive from the campground. The Rio Grande Zoo, Botanical Garden and Cliff's Amusement Park are also within a 30-minute drive from the park.

Albuquerque Central KOA has 182 tent and RV camping sites. RV sites accommodate RVs up to 80 feet long and have sewer, water and electric hookups. The campground features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, on-site bicycle rentals, miniature golf, meeting room, kitchen and free wireless Internet access.

Palisades RV Park

Situated on Historic Route 66 in Albuquerque, Palisades RV Park is less than 20 miles from Tijeras. Hiking, biking, golfing and bird watching are among the of outdoor recreation opportunities within a 15-minute drive from the park. The Petroglyph National Monument and Cibola National Forest are less than 15 miles from the park.

Palisades RV Park has 113 RV sites that are all equipped with water, sewer and electric hookups and are phone- and cable-ready. The park features restrooms with showers, laundry facility, dump station, dry dock and free wireless Internet access.
